Program an SX-200 Bay

Before You Begin

Ensure that the SX-200 Bay is connected as documented in the Technician's Handbook and that trunks and other facilities on the SX-200 ICP (if replacing) are reallocated to the 3300 MXe as required.

Programming

To program an SX-200 Bay:

  1. License and Option Selection form
Ensure that enough analog line licenses are programmed for the bay in the License and Option Selection form. Each line circuit in the bay, whether ONS or OPS, requires a single analog line license. Calculate the number of analog line licenses per bay as follows: 12 for each ONS/ONS CLASS line card and six for each OPS line card.

  2. Controller Module Configuration form
Program a Dual FIM and/or Quad CIM as required to connect the Bay(s) to the 3300 ICP. Up to seven bays can be connected to the 3300 MXe using any combination of FIM or CIM connections.

  3. Analog Services Unit Configuration form
    Click
Change and enter a value in the range 2 to 16 in the Unit field. The value is for identification only and is used to differentiate between units when there are more than one installed.
Select "SX-200 Bay" from the Programmed Type field.

  1. Card Assignment form.
    Select the appropriate card types.
Each SX-200 Bay holds up to 8 Peripheral Interface cards, which  provide up to 96 ONS, OPS, or DNI ports.

  1. Analog Set Assignment form
    Program the ONS/OPS circuits.

    1. Note: ONS/OPS circuits in SX-200 Bays use Circuit Descriptor Number 16 for their high and low flash timer value. See ONS/OPS Circuit Assignment for the required descriptor settings. Descriptor 16 is only used for the flash timers and is not actually assigned to the Bay circuits. For other parameters, the circuits use whatever is in the descriptor they are assigned.

  1. Single Line DNI Set Configuration, Multiline DNI Set Configuration and DNI Console Configuration forms
Program sets and SC1000 consoles as required.
