You can integrate the 5550 IP console (Release 1.3 and later) with the Job Access With Speech (JAWS) software to achieve Visually Handicapped Operators Console (VHOC) compliance. JAWS is a screen reader from Freedom Scientific that uses speech synthesizer software and a sound card to read screen information to a visually handicapped operator. Screen events generated by the 5505 IP console (Release 1.3 and later) can be accepted by the JAWS application programming interface. You will require third-party software development to allow JAWS to read the events to the operator.
