Program Analog Trunks

Before You Begin

• Ensure that the Analog Services Unit Configuration form is programmed.

• Ensure that Class of Service, Interconnect Restriction, and Intercept Handling is programmed for each trunk.

• Measure the Loop Start (LS) trunk line settings. See Measuring LS Trunk Line Settings.

Programming

To program analog trunks:

1. Complete one of the following forms depending on the trunk type:

2. CO Trunk Circuit Descriptor Assignment form

3. DID Trunk Circuit Descriptor Assignment form

4. Loop Tie Trunk Circuit Descriptor Assignment form

5. E&M Trunk Circuit Descriptor Assignment form

2. Trunk Service Assignment form
   Select an unused Trunk Service Number:

3. Assign a Class of Service

4. Assign a Class of Restriction

5. Set incoming PSTN trunks to a "Non-Dial-In Trunks Answer Point" or set the "Dial-In Trunks Incoming Digit Modification Absorb" field to '0'.

6. If specifying an answer point, enter a directory number as the answer point for Day Service, Night Service 1, and Night Service 2.

7. (Optional) Assign a Trunk Label to appear on display telephones and attendant consoles during incoming and outgoing calls.

4. Assign a Trunk Number, Trunk Service Number (from step 2), Trunk Circuit Descriptor Number (from step 1), and Interconnect Number.

5. For an outgoing trunk, enter the Trunk Number in the desired trunk group.
