To program a RAD:
In the ONS/OPS Circuit Descriptor Assignment form, assign a directory number for each RAD device.
In the Class of Service Options Assignment form, assign a separate Class of Service to each RAD.
In the Class of Service Options Assignment form, for each RAD, set the Recorded Announcement Device option to "Yes", the ANSWER PLUS Message Length Timer equal to the message duration, and the ANSWER PLUS Expected Offhook Timer equal to the RAD cycle time plus an allowance of five seconds guard time.
In the Station Service Assignment form, assign the appropriate Class of Service (COS) to each RAD directory number.
Note: Certain MCD features such as Attendant
Overflow and Front End Messaging require RAD directory numbers to be programmed
as the System Reroute Always and System Reroute First Alternate destinations.
Although RAD and RAD group directory numbers appear in the Call Rerouting
Assignment form, any rerouting programmed against these directory numbers
is ignored.
To program the RAD maintenance telephone:
Note: The designated telephone must be a display telephone with the ability to delete Callback Messages.
In the Intercept Handling Assignment form, enter the prime number of the designated display telephone beside the Directory Number Out of Service entry.
In the Station Service Assignment form, enter the intercept number from the above step in the Intercept field for the RAD's directory number(s).
Refer to RAD Failure Detection for more information about RAD maintenance telephones.
